Job Description
We are hiring Helpers for Shipbuilding at Kandla Port.
Key Responsibilities
General Assistance
- Assist welders, fitters, fabricators, electricians, painters, riggers, and technicians in daily work activities.
- Carry tools, materials, equipment, and consumables to work locations.
- Support loading, unloading, shifting, and stacking of materials.
Shipyard Operations
- Assist in ship construction, repair, dry docking, and maintenance activities.
- Clean work areas, tanks, compartments, decks, and machinery spaces.
- Support scaffolding, staging, and housekeeping activities.
Material Handling
- Handle steel plates, pipes, fittings, cables, and shipbuilding materials safely.
- Assist in cutting, grinding, chipping, and surface preparation works.
- Maintain proper storage and movement of materials.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all shipyard safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Report unsafe conditions and incidents to supervisors.
- Assist during emergency drills and safety inspections.
Maintenance Support
- Help in basic maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Ensure proper cleaning and storage of tools after use.
