Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Academic Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons in accordance with the prescribed curriculum.
- Develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through innovative teaching methods.
- Encourage the development of vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, creative writing, and spoken English.
- Differentiate instruction to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Integrate technology and activity-based learning into classroom instruction.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, and teaching-learning materials.
Student Assessment
- Conduct regular formative and summative assessments.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate academic records.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Identify learning gaps and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
Classroom Management
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Establish classroom routines and maintain discipline in line with school policies.
- Encourage positive behaviour, teamwork, and respect among students.
Parent Communication
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding students' academic progress and overall development.
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and provide appropriate guidance.
- Address parent concerns professionally and collaboratively.
Co-curricular Activities
- Participate in school assemblies, competitions, events, and celebrations.
- Organize English-related activities such as storytelling, debates, reading clubs, spell bees, and creative writing competitions.
- Support students in inter-school competitions and cultural programmes.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain attendance records, assessment records, and student portfolios.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required by the school.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development programmes, and school committees.
- Perform other academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in English or a related discipline.
- B.Ed. is mandatory.
- CTET/TET qualification will be preferred.
- Master's Degree in English will be an added advantage.
